24th November, 1952 – 11th September, 2026
Erika died very peacefully on September 11th, 2026 after a courageous fight against colon cancer.
She leaves behind many many circles of family and friends to mourn their loss.
Erika, a naturalized U.S. citizen, was born in Lörrach, Germany, as the eldest of eight children; where her seven siblings, some with children and grandchildren of their own, all still live.
Erika left instructions that her ashes are to be placed together with those of her beloved husband, Ronald, in an earth friendly container and buried in a peaceful setting. “Back to nature”.
She further directed that there should be no service or ceremony.
May she rest in peace.

Her courage was amazing. Her spirit will remain in our hearts. We cherish the time we spend with her laughing, sharing thoughtful conversations and becoming aware of the beauty of nature and her spirit of adventure.

I miss Erika.
We had the privilege of meeting Erika and her dear Ronald 37 years ago during our first vacation in the USA. Since then, a deep friendship has existed between her and our family. Erika was my soulmate. What am I to do now WITHOUT HER? I miss our long phone calls between Germany and the USA. She was always there to listen, and she fought so bravely against cancer over the past year.
Why her????? Now she is reunited with her beloved Ronald. That brings some comfort amidst the pain and grief. I will never forget her!!!!!

Erika was my dearest friend for 25 years. She and Ronald moved to Hawiaa the same year I moved to North Carolina. Over the last 20 years, we visited each other several times, and every other week talked for hours. We shared laughs, stories and hundreds of recipes. When she first told me about the cancer, I could not imagine my life without her in it. Now, I can’t imagine my life if she hadn’t been in it, she was strong and wonderful person, I loved her deeply.
