Julian Lemus, age 90, passed peacefully in his home on July 27, 2021. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. Julian was preceeded in his passing by his beloved wife, Vincenza ( Venzie) of 57 years and his much loved honorary niece, Alma. He was also preceeded in passing by his 3 brothers and his beloved sister, Margaret( Nena) and adored nephews, Ray and Tommy. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Patti( Bill), and Julie/Sugie ( Alan) and his beloved grandson and his grand daughter in law, Jamie and Adrea.
He is also survived by his loving honorary nephews Raul Alberto, Carlos and Erich, and his honorary niece, Margarite. Julian, a Tampa native, grew up in West Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1950. He was drawn to the retail business and started his ambitious and successful career during his high school years, as a shoe salesman at age 16 at Kinneys Shoes in Downtown Tampa. He worked in the retail shoe business his entire professional career and retired as President of Leeds Shoes Company in Tampa. Upon retiring, he became a home remodeling expert and several of his unique and beautiful projects can be seen throughout Tampa and especially in the Carrollwood area. Julian was also a very well respected and admired professor of adult learning studies in poetry and both classical and Broadway music at The University of South Florida. He was very active in social activities in West Tampa and frequented several local establishments and was part of The West Tampa Sandwich Shop Morning Group. He deeply loved and spoiled his furry family of past and present poodles and kitties, most of which were rescued. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to The SPCA no kill sheltets and Seasons Hospice of Tampa. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. His wonderful legacy, generosity and inspiration will live on through his family and many dear friends. We love and miss you so very, very much Daddy, but you and your wonderful love, beautiful kindness and amazing tenderness will always be with us in our hearts. We are all finding comfort in knowing you are resting in PEACE now with the Lord in ALL His Glory in Heaven.
