August 29, 1985 – April 21, 2021

Andrew “Andy” Jordan Hiers, 35, of Lakeland has gone to touch the face of Jesus on April 21, 2021.  He is survived by his mother Georgia Madrid (Andrew), father Terry Hiers (JoJo), sisters Ashley Laney and Amber Alger (Brian), brother Victor DiTusa (Natalia), son Zachary, five nieces, two nephews, step-grandparents James and Velma Madrid, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog, Gizmo.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Wanda Lee Ann Harrelson, grandfather Carl “Wayne” Laney, paternal grandparents James and Laoma Hiers.

Andy was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area. He was a heavy equipment operator / driver.  He was an outdoorsman who especially loved fishing.  He enjoyed the beach, dirt bike riding, biking, boating, scuba diving and online gaming.  He loved Roller Coasters and was a bit of a daredevil who knew no fear.  As a youth, he excelled in sports, was an All-Star Pitcher in Little League, took Tae Kwan Do, and was a Cub Scout.  He was very protective and caring to his mother, grandmother, and siblings as “the man of the house” from a young age.  He loved his brother and sisters dearly.

Andy will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, great sense of humor, and caring spirit and will be sorely missed by all.  He will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved him.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

See you again someday in Heaven!!!

Andrew will be sorely missed by his family that he came to be a part of too late in life to undo the damage of his early years. We will always love and miss you.
