Our beloved and cherished mother, Nayade Hernandez, peacefully passed away and went to be with our Lord on September 3, 2023, at the age of 87.

Born in Güines, Cuba, Nayade’s life was a testament to resilience, love, caring and the nurturing of others. Nayade’s proudest and most enduring roles were that of devoted wife and caring mother. She dedicated herself to loving her husband and raising her four sons with guidance, love, and support.

Nayade Hernandez was preceded in death by her loving father Arturo Hernandez, mother Odette Granda, her loving husband Carlos Hernandez, and her brother Arturo Hernandez.

Nayade is survived by her four devoted sons, Carlos Jr. (Angie), Lester (Tammy), Edgar (Kim), and Alex (Tara); her grandchildren Thomas, Michael (Lisa), Shannon, Ashley, Anthony (Susan), Alison, Alysa and Elena, Emily (Cameron), Eric (Nicey), Brooke (Ramonte), Casey, Robbie (Brookelynn), Josh and Sam; and her great grandchildren Aubrey, Kacey, Lizzy, Shaelynn (RJ), Brieanna, Mia, Ava, Blakely, Bridge, Caleb and Cheyenne. She also leaves behind many relatives and close friends who will forever cherish the impact she had on their lives. Nayade’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. We will carry forward her legacy of resilience, love, and the pursuit of knowledge.

A memorial service will be held from 2-4 pm on September 23 (Saturday) to honor Nayade Hernandez’ life at:

Victory Tabernacle Church
4546 Kelly Road
Tampa, FL 33615

If flowers are desired, please note that they will only be accepted at the above address from 1pm to 4pm on the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your favorite charity in Nayade’s name – she had many charities that she enjoyed donating to.

Dear Carlos, Lester, Edgar, and Alex,
Sending you all deepest sympathy for the passing of your beautiful mom.
She was such a lovely lady. She and your dad always made our family feel so welcome
when we visited you those summers at Indian Rocks beach. Her smile could light up a room, she will be missed. A mother’s love never ends, she will always be with you.

Your mom was a special person. She always shared her love and kindness with family and friends. I was blessed to see that first hand, when took me into your family when I was in college. The world lost a special lady, I am confident the lord has gained an angel. May she reunite with your father and they continue their love through eternity.

I am heartbroken to hear this news. Such a beautiful woman and human being, my heart aches for the family, especially since I recently lost my own mother! The boys were always first and foremost in her life and Carlos’ as well. I know she is a beautiful angel looking down, may your family find peace and comfort in knowing everyone that knew her is sad to hear this news.
