Christopher Regan Ferree, age 79, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully September 26, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1946, in High Point, North Carolina, a son of the late Hoagy and Rosemary Ferree.
Chris, as he was affectionately known, was a bright light in the lives of his family and friends.

Relatives would call Chris when planning a trip and receive the information they needed regarding family historical facts that would be useful to them.
Chris spent most of his life in Florida, attending University of Florida, followed by serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War, then resided in Tampa, Florida for his career and the remainder of his life.
Chris is survived and missed by his daughter, Fabricia Moreno, granddaughter, Yumi Moreno, sister, Kathy Ferree, step mother, Ann B. Ferree and remembered fondly by his many treasured relatives. He also leaves his friends who will sadly miss him.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Hoagy G. Ferree and Rosemary R. Ferree.

I have very nice memories of Chris since he lived across the street from us. Chris was kind to all of us. I remember a couple walks he took with me at Horizon Park. He said I shouldn’t walk alone and was there for my protection. That was so kind. I thank God for the memories and for the good neighbor me and my family had.
God bless Chris’ family and give you peace and comfort during as you grieve your loss.

I just heard of Chris passing, and I will miss our conversations about many topics, but especially the genealogy of the Ferree Family. We were on the genealogy committee for.years together and enjoyed seeing one another at the reunions. Chris was a very kind soul and will be missed greatly by his many distant Ferree cousins.
