On Sunday February 16, 2020 our loving Father and Grandfather Inocente Jorge Romero passed away at the age of 91 years. Inocente was born December 28, 1928 in Callao, Peru to Father Evorcio Romero and Mother Carmen Denegri. Inocente was well known as a Captain of Fishermen in Peru. He founded the Peruvian Fishing Association (Union) that gave Fisherman Medical and Retirement benefits as well as housing for all the workers. He loved helping others, especially his family.

He migrated to New Jersey in 1993 after he retired from the Fishing Industry to care for his wife and help his children achieve the American Dream. He outlived his wife Sara Maria Mattza de Romero of 55 years. Inocente was his wife’s caretaker during her 22 yrs battling Parkinson’s. Inocente will be eternally remembered by his Children Agustin, Maria Elena, Juan Carlos, Sara Gabriela, Carmen Iwonne, Jorge Martin, and Alberto Ulises. Though Inocente didn’t finish High School he worked hard to provide his children an education. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to cook for them but most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s talented performances. Inocente is leaving behind 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Inocente was a strong man with much conviction and will be eternally remembered by all his family and friends.

Join us in a celebration of his life at Cremations of Greater Tampa Bay 110 N Macdill Ave Tampa FL 33609 viewing and service from 5-9pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you make donations to Maydel ALF 2006 W Barclay Rd Tampa FL 33612 where he spent his final years receiving compassionate care.
