Rhonda Sharon Armentrout, age 65, passed away on June 22, 2022. She was born in Tampa, Florida on November 10, 1956, to Jack and Murielene Boyd. She was the youngest of three children. Her eldest brother, Jack, preceded her in death in 2007.

Rhonda held her Christian faith at the center of her life and showed generosity in a multitude of ways whenever she could. She was a wife and mother who would truly do anything for her family and always focused heavily on savoring life’s little moments. She frequently checked in with her children just to see if anyone needed anything and would gladly go without if it meant she could make things easier for her family.

In 2015, Rhonda married Derek Armentrout. The two shared a beautiful life and did virtually everything together, from picking blueberries to shopping to spoiling their grandchildren. She and Derek rescued multiple cats over the years. At the time she passed, they had eight cats who they loved and cared for.

Rhonda is survived by her husband Derek, her brother Don and his wife Charlotte, her daughter Shannon and her husband Toby, her son Joseph and his wife Holly, her stepchildren Tony, Preston, and Hailey, her grandchildren Victoria, Anthony Michael, Jack, Skyla, Micah, Benny, and Jackson, as well as nieces and one nephew, and great nieces and one great nephew.

Florida law states “A cremation may not be performed until a legally authorized person gives written authorization for such cremation,” (FS 497.607).  Furthermore, the law defines whom the “legally authorized person” is and sets up the order of priority of next of kin. We require a written authorization before scheduling any cremation or funeral services. The “Authorization for Cremation and Disposition” form must be signed by the next of kin in the following order: spouse, son or daughter (of legal age), parent, brother or sister, grandchild, grandparent.
