Rodrigo “Rocky” Neptali Aguilar, age 79, of Tampa, FL, passed away on December 2, 2022, after a long battle with Aplastic Anemia. His last months were spent in the care of his ex-wife and best friend, Rosa Aguilar.

Rodrigo was born on October 10, 1943, to Luis and Teresa Aguilar in Ambato, Ecuador. He was one of the ten children they had. Eight sons and two daughters. He left Ecuador in 1969 and moved to New York. Then in 1974 he moved to Tampa, FL making that his permanent residence.

Our beloved Rodrigo leaves behind 4 children, Janina Pacheco, Franco Aguilar, Sandra Carson and Jesseñia Mixson. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren that will forever cherish the memories of “Papi” and keep him in their hearts.

He was a true advocate of Jesus Christ and spreading the word of God.

Services will be held at Iglesia Luz del Mundo on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm.

Florida law states “A cremation may not be performed until a legally authorized person gives written authorization for such cremation,” (FS 497.607).  Furthermore, the law defines whom the “legally authorized person” is and sets up the order of priority of next of kin. We require a written authorization before scheduling any cremation or funeral services. The “Authorization for Cremation and Disposition” form must be signed by the next of kin in the following order: spouse, son or daughter (of legal age), parent, brother or sister, grandchild, grandparent.
