MATIAS MILLA (1944 – 2025)

Matias Milla, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Hospice on November 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Matias was born in Havana, Cuba, on May 28, 1944, and he was a Tampa resident for the past 46 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matias Milla Solsona and Maria Luisa Antiga, and is survived by his wife, Matilde Zenovia Milla, his daughter Madlein Milla Ferlita (Kenneth), his two grandchildren, Michelle and Kenneth Jr., and his brother Alejandro Milla of Miami.

Matias first found work in Tampa’s phosphate industry but soon started working in Hispanic food distribution throughout Florida. He loved his adopted country and immediately gave back through programs like the Red Cross Hispanic Initiative Super Paella, and he was active in the Tampa Club, Ybor City Chamber, and the Krewe of Venus as a King’s Guard, among other civic organizations, including his membership in the Masons.

Matias was most proud of his two grandchildren and enjoyed always being a part of their lives, from trips to amusement parks to school events. He always treasured all of the family events and holidays together.

Funeral services will be private.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Affinity Hospice & Palliative Care and Matias’ care team.  In lieu of flowers, please consider: Affinity Hospice: https://affinityhealthmanagement.com/foundation/
