In Loving Memory of Catherine Ruth Fenton

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, Catherine Ruth Fenton—affectionately known as “Cathy with a C”—was called to be with our Holy Father and Lord, Our Savior. Cathy leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, and she is survived by her two sons: Nathaniel Mueller of Riverview, Florida, and Derek Mueller of Clearwater, Florida. Cathy’s daughter, Rachelle Mueller, preceded her in death, and it brings comfort to know that they will be reunited in Heaven.

Family and Loved Ones:

Cathy is lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren: Kaetlyn Spain of Venice, Florida; Hannah Mueller of Orlando, Florida; and Collen Mueller of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Kaetlyn and Hannah have followed in Cathy’s footsteps by pursuing careers in nursing, a testament to her influence and passion for the field. Collen serves in the Army 82nd Airborne, a choice that filled Cathy with immense pride.

Cathy is also survived by her only sibling, sister Mary Wilbers Connelly of Missouri. Her extended family includes nieces Veronica Watkins and Susan Blakeley, as well as nephews Marcus Watkins and Grant Blakeley. She will be reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, George H. Wilbers Jr. and Rita McGuire Wilbers.

Early Life and Education:

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 18, 1957, Cathy demonstrated dedication from an early age. She graduated from Park Hill High School in 1975, where she was an enthusiastic participant in the marching band, serving as both a Majorette and a flutist.

Career and Accomplishments:

After completing high school, Cathy embarked on a successful career in Nursing and Infusion Therapy Administration. Over the years, she attained numerous professional certifications and degrees. Cathy retired in 2021 but continued to maintain many of her professional credentials, driven by a desire to serve her community. Her plans for an active and meaningful retirement were, however, unexpectedly interrupted.

Passions and Personal Life:

Cathy’s life was enriched by her love of gardening and antiques, as well as the moments she spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memory remains a source of comfort to all who know her, as we remember that she is now free from pain and at peace.

Final Arrangements and Memorials:

In accordance with Cathy’s wishes, there are currently no plans for a funeral or service. The family will honor her request for cremation and will share updates should a celebration of life be scheduled in the future.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Cathy’s memory to Hope for Justice or St Joseph Hospitals Foundation.

Thank you all and God Bless!

Kim, my mom’s oldest friend. Thank you so very much. Mom always spoke about you and how gracious she was to have you as her long-time friend. Friendships in life anymore come and go but yours stood test of time. Thank you for your kind comments. God Bless.
