Arlanders Alford (affectionately known as GOAT), age 84 was born February 24, 1938 in Cottonton, Alabama. He was the youngest son to the late Jesse Alford Sr. and Elnora Screws Alford.

As a longtime resident of Tampa, Florida, he was employed as a shrimper until his retirement.  Although he had many hobbies, his number #1 love and passion was GOLF. In addition to his golf skills, he was also known for being an amazing swing dancer and an awesome dominoes player.  All of these talents helped form his nickname “GOAT” because he truly was the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

On Thursday February 02, 2023, God looked around his beautiful garden and saw an empty place. He looked down upon earth and saw Arlanders tired face. He reached down and placed his arms around Arlanders so he could rest and enjoy his beautiful garden.

I agree he was one of the greatest of all time. His golf game and swing was respected by all players that played with Goat. He was also a ballroom dancer. He could dance with two of three ladies at the same time. He was one of the men that erected the Willie Black monument that’s on the tenth tee at Rogers Park Golf Course in Tampa Florida.
