, 75, passed away Friday morning, March 29, 2019.  She was admitted to Hospice care only one day prior and died peacefully in her sleep with her husband by her side, holding her hand.

She leaves behind her husband of 25 years, John Rogers, her two sisters Mary Byron and Patricia O’Brien, three daughters Tina Rhodes, Julie Cecchini, Katie Roman, seven grandchildren: Amanda and Jonathan Rhodes, Kayla, Justin and Kayte Cecchini, and Tatiana and Isabella Roman, as well as four great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Destiny Ellis and Zoey and Sofia Dorn.   She was preceded in death by her first husband of 20 years and father to their three girls, Anthony Cecchini.  Additionally, June was fortunate to have two life-long friends that she talked to daily: Jeanie Taylor and Carol Dixon.

Born in Boston Massachusetts on November 6, 1943, June spent her childhood summers at White Horse Beach.  As a young adult she performed with the USO where she met her first husband Anthony as well as Carol Dixon.  At night, she worked as a nursing assistant, which is where she met Jeanie Taylor.

In 1973, June and family moved to Florida where her long-time friend Carol Dixon and family had moved the year prior.  They were fortunate to purchase a home two doors away from Carol and her family, where June resided until her time of death.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for 46 years.  The Church was where she met and married her second husband John Rogers.

June’s most profound career was working for Tampa General Hospital (TGH), where she worked in different departments for 20 years.  It was through her time with TGH where June was able to touch thousands of lives, whether it was through the Pastoral Care Department or by singing to patients by their bedside, she knew her time there positively impacted thousands of patients and staff.

June was best known for both her funny wit and for her mantra: “I don’t want a gift, I want to spend time with you and make memories”.

June left detailed instructions on what she wanted upon her passing. Thusly, her “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, June 1st, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4518 S. Manhattan Ave, Tampa, FL 33611, at 11am.  She has asked that anyone attending who has had “silly times or happy times” when they think of her – to please share those memories at that time.  Those unable to attend but would still like to share a silly or happy time, please email a member of the immediate family.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, you please honor her by following her last wish: “Go home and let someone know how much of a difference or impact they have made in your life.”

Beautiful words for a beautiful person both inside and out. She will be greatly missed and those who are fortunate enough to have met her and spend time with her, know full well that she was an amazing woman. She was one of a kind and she will be greatly missed by everyone. She is now at peace, joining all her loved ones and celebrating the wonderful life she had.
